Is it possible to use this thread to compile watchtowers Armageddon illustrations
by jambon1 ini was informed today by a jw that the watchtower doesn't use images and propaganda to instil fear.
i would really like to see a compilation of all their armageddon illustrations.
maybe a thread or web page already exists that had this content.. the one i am really wanting is the most recent picture of the witnesses in the basement during the tribulation.. this will be a massive help so thank you..

Should I Shun My Dog?
by snugglebunny insome background:josie the miniature schnauzer is now 12 years old, so she's old enough to know the difference between right and wrong.
however, she insists on peeing in the middle of my beautifully tended lawn, which, as a consequence, is now covered in brown patches.
i've remonstrated with her a number of times and each time she purports to show a diplay of repentance, that is, she slinks away on her belly with her ears flattened down tightly to her head.

armageddon happened. invisibly--of course. this is the new system. i know it looks like the old system---but we're all waiting on jehovah to do something. but it might take some time------ -

Armageddon in 1975 'probability' or 'possibility'? Irrefutable Proof the Watchtower Said 1975 Was "Game Over!"
by PhilsWager2 init's hard to know where to put this link to a polish book some of you older members probably read, while our newer members are seeking answers to questions the watchtower vehemently deny's!
do i put this under "jw scandals" or "jw beliefs"?
for decades without the internet many of us did not have access to all the publications written by early watchtower writers because access was hard, only men like raymond franz jr(god rest his brave soul) had the golden key for entering the library of all publications jws made.. can some of the older members remember people who sold their homes and others who bought things in the summer or fall of 1974 knowing they won't be paying for their purchases because jehovah will destroy all the creditors records when he kills them!

How come the Watchtower was not spending every single penny in 1972-1974 trying to warn people?
that is a very good point.
i was a pioneer and a servant in the late 60's. back then all the hype was about 1975. but i had quit the cult by 1971. i had no fear or belief in armageddon whatsoever. or god for that matter.
i recall one elder in 1974 trying to get me interested again. but then he told me he had bought a better car on credit because he knew he would never have to pay for it. last i heard of the silly arse he was a circuit servant.

my father is still alive at 94--in a care home near me. i see him every other day. i'm all hes got. he was baptised --with me--54 years ago. over the last 2 years the local elders have gradually eased off visiting him--i dont think any have been this year. he hasnt abandoned his religion--its the other way round.
i have power of attorney and handle all his financial affairs, and have a copy of his will.
when he passes i plan to arrange a simple non-religious service at the crematorium. any jw's are welcome to attend. but i doubt they will find out till long afterwards.

A big hello and thank you
by iwasblind ini just wanted to introduce myself and say a big hello to all of my mentally diseased friends.. i say friends because i have been lurking for some time so it feels like home (us lurkers are a bit scared and cautious so it takes a while).
i won't bore you with too many details, but i am a born in, currently serving as the cobe of a congregation.
my wife and i have pioneered for the last 10 years and were shaken awake by that ridiculous 15th july 2013 wt about the generation and 1914.. my wife who is much smarter than me has questioned for years.
